Accessibility

Measured, not aspirational.

This site targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Rather than state a general commitment, here is what was actually tested, what the results were, and what we know is still imperfect.

  • 0

    contrast failures

Every text and background pair on every page, computed from rendered styles against WCAG 2.2 AA thresholds: 4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text.

  • 17px

    body copy

Supporting text is never below 15px and labels never below 12px. The previous build set service descriptions at 13px. Our buyers are typically 45 to 65 and theirs are older still.

  • 24px

    minimum target size

The WCAG 2.2 AA minimum, met by every standalone link and control. Buttons and form fields are 44px or taller.

  • 1

    H1 per page

Checked across all pages. A correct heading outline is how screen reader users navigate a page rather than read it linearly.

What that means in practice

How the site is built.

Keyboard operable throughout

Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, including the navigation dropdown, the blog filters, and every form. Focus is always visible: a 2px indicator in gold on the dark ground and in a darker gold on the light sections, so it meets the 3:1 minimum on both.

Motion respects your settings

Scroll reveals, counting metrics, the drawing census curve, and hover effects all check prefers-reduced-motion and stop. Nothing is hidden or unreadable if animation is disabled, because content never depends on a transition completing.

Semantic structure, not visual approximation

Real headings, lists, tables, and landmarks. A skip link is the first focusable element on every page. Form fields have associated labels rather than placeholder text standing in for them.

Images carry alternative text

Every content image has a description. Decorative graphics are marked as such so screen readers skip them instead of announcing noise.

Forced colors and high contrast modes

Photographic treatments and blend effects are removed under forced-colors so nothing becomes invisible in Windows High Contrast Mode.

No accessibility overlay

We do not use an overlay widget. They frequently interfere with the assistive technology a person already uses, and they have been the subject of legal claims themselves. Conformance is built into the markup instead.

Known issues

Where we are not there yet.

A statement that claims everything is perfect is not worth reading. These are the gaps we are aware of.

  1. 01 Some migrated blog posts, imported from the previous site, contain tables that may be difficult to follow on narrow screens. They scroll horizontally within their container rather than breaking the page, and we are reformatting them.
  2. 02 Alternative text on older blog post images was rewritten by hand from the images themselves in September 2026. If one still describes a picture badly, tell us and we will fix it.
  3. 03 Third-party sites we link to, such as the scheduling tool and the client dashboard, are outside our direct control. If you hit a barrier in one, contact us and we will arrange the same outcome another way.

Report a barrier

If something here does not work for you.

Tell us what you were trying to do and what got in the way. We aim to respond within two business days, and we will give you the information or complete the task another way while we fix the underlying problem.

This statement was last reviewed on 10 September 2026 and applies to inertiadigital.marketing. Heading structure, alternative text, landmarks and form labels are checked automatically on every build, and the build fails if any of them regress. Contrast, focus and target size are measured against rendered styles at each release.

We build accessible sites for operators too.

Accessibility claims against senior living operators are rising, and overlay widgets have themselves been the subject of them. If you want to know where your own site stands, we will audit it as part of a free marketing audit.
